About the Survey
This is a general social survey of the greater weblog community being conducted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Our goal is to help understand the way that weblogs are affecting the way we communicate with each other. Specifically we are interested in issues of demographics, communication behaviors, experience with weblogs and other technology, and the meaning of various types of social links within the blogosphere.

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete, and we are asking anyone with a weblog to participate. The larger the sample of individuals we can get, the better our picture of the community will be.

Survey Sample
In addition to those webloggers that choose to help us voluntarily, we have also randomly selected 5000 weblogs to act as a representative sample of the greater weblog community. If you received an email which said you were selected, you are part of this group, and your responses are ever so important to us. If you received an email in error, we apologize. We realize the amount of spam that exists in the world, and if these emails were an inconvenience in any way, we can't be sorry enough.

Everyone who maintains a weblog is welcome (and encouraged) to take the survey. Results for both sample pools (invited and self-added) will be collected and analyzed. Your responses are extremely important to us, and we thank you greatly for your time!

Make Poverty History - White Band Day

International White Band Day, July 1, will see people around the world wearing white bands and wrapping public buildings in white to send a message to the G8 world leaders that we demand action on More and Better Aid, Canceling the Debt, Trade Justice, and Ending Child Poverty.

On July 1, thousands of people in 70 countries will be wearing their white bands at marches, rallies, concerts and other events.

Unpleasant surprises

Life sometimes unfolds in ways you never could have anticipated or imagined. Even the most carefully laid plans can be turned upside down by something totally unforeseen.

When that happens, you could moan, complain, yell, scream, throw things and dive into a fog of self pity. But none of that would bring you anything of value.

When one of life's unpleasant surprises comes along, you may be tempted to use it as an excuse for becoming depressed, despondent, and giving up. But do you really want to choose to be miserable and ineffective?

Instead, realize that a positive response is every bit as possible and realistic as a negative one, and a whole lot more beneficial. When events knock you off balance, use the occasion not as an excuse to give up, but rather as a reason to push forward with even more determination.

When a ship gets blown off course to the east, a good captain will steer the vessel back to the west. In the same way, when life pushes you in a negative direction, your best response is to push back even more positively than before.

When an unpleasant surprise comes along, that's a great time for you to create a surprise of your own. Surprise the world with how positive you can be, and everyone will quickly be moving forward again.

Make it enjoyable

For you are the person who decides what is enjoyable to you and what is not. What you find enjoyable is precisely what you choose to find enjoyable.

To make a particular task or activity enjoyable, you do not have to change that activity in any way. You can simply and easily change the way you think about it.

When you enjoy what you're doing, you'll be very effective at it and able to create much value. So choose to enjoy those things that will most powerfully propel you forward.

When you decide that something is enjoyable, you'll do it often and you'll do it well. Take what you have to do, turn it into what you want to do, and you can surely achieve great things.

Martunis realises Portugal dream

An eight-year-old survivor of the Asian tsunami realised a dream on Saturday when he shared the pitch with the Portuguese national team before their World Cup qualifier against Slovakia.

Martunis, an Indonesian third-grader, shook hands with and was kissed by members of both sides before the start of the Group Three match at a packed Luz stadium.

Dressed in a red-and-green Portuguese team jersey, Martunis walked on to the pitch holding the hand of AC Milan's Rui Costa, who has retired from international football. He watched the game from the stands at Costa's side.

He was also given a cheque for 40,000 euros ($49,100) by FIFA president Sepp Blatter, a gift from the Portuguese Soccer Federation.

Martunis was found by a British TV crew after the December 2004 tsunami wandering delirious and dressed in a Portuguese team jersey.

Akhirnya setelah menunggu sekian lama, saya berhasil mengunakan wristband (gelang karet) solidaritasKEBERSAMAAN yang saya beli di Bakoel Koffie yang di Cikini Raya.

Banyak yang nyari, tapi cuman makan waktu 1 jam saja... 400 gelang yang di drop *ludes* --- untung aku bisa dapet... Untuk keponakan ku 3 ukuran kecil juga loh...

Bakoel Koffie

Pagi tadi saya mampir di Bakoel Koffie, tepatnya berada di alamat Jl. Cikini Raya No. 25 (kebetulan mereka sudah buka sejak jam 08.00 pagi). Tempatnya berada di samping kantor pos Cikini.

Nah bicara tentang apa yang saya nikmati untuk breakfast pagi ini yaitu Coffe Caramel yang ngak kalah enak sama yang di Starbucks & Coffe Bean (percaya deh), kalau bicara harganya Bakoel Koffie lumayan terjangkau.

Sekarang bicara interiornya yang keren, cocok banget untuk ngopi2x sama temen-temen. Keren dan simple.

So kalau sempat main di Cikini dan pengemar Kopi silahkan coba Bakoel Koffie. It's recommended by me! Hari biasa buka sampe jam 10.00 malam kalau weekend itu sampai jam 12.00 malam.
