Adjusting your approach

Is what you're doing now getting you where you want to be? If not, then it's time for some changes.

Yes, change can be frightening and difficult. Yet it is immensely more desirable than continuing to put your effort into going where you don't want to go.

Most likely, some things you're now doing are working and some things are not. It will pay you enormously to figure out which are which.

Achievement is a moving target, and conditions are constantly changing. So regularly adjusting your approach is necessary to a successful life.

Even the most skillful captain must make adjustments in the ship's course along the way. An important part of reaching your destination is recognizing when you've strayed off the path and then finding a way to get back on it.

So take a good look at where you're headed, honestly, objectively, and with the intention of making whatever adjustments are necessary. Keep yourself pointed toward the goal, and your actions will surely take you there.

Restorant Kenari - Kepiting Saos

Kepiting... waktu ke balikpapan minggu yang lalu, saya dan rekan-rekan sebelum kembali ke jakarta mampir di Restorant Kenari di Jl. MR. Iswahyudi RT 61/RW 18 No. 5 Balikpapan (di dekat Lap terbang Sepingan), dimana restorant ini memiliki spesialisasi hidangan Kepiting.

Kami menikmati Kepiting Saos & Kepiting Lada Hitam. Rasanya : enak sekali...
Thanks untuk Bro Hotman yang traktir kita makan dan Bro Teddy yang nganterin kita juga.

Day 4 : Grand Senyiur Hotel

Karena kesibukan di dalam PST kali ini, baru hari ke-4 saya bisa posting cerita pendek dari Balikpapan. Kebetulan sekarang akses internet dari Grand Senyiur Hotel Balikpapan (yang katanya hotel bintang 5 satu-satunya di kalimantan timur) - Business Center.

Beberapa catatan tentang akses internet di Balikpapan :
* Ternyata kalau mau main internet gratis (Wi-Fi Hotspot) silahkan ke Footcourt Plaza saja
* Akses perjam di Hotel ini Rp. 50.000

Day 1 : Balikpapan

Take off dari Soekarno-Hatta airport jam 12.00 WIB lewat beberapa menit, dengan mengunakan pesawat Adam Air saya dengan rombongan menuju ke Balikpapan. Kurang lebih 1 jam 45 menit waktu yang ditempuh sampai pesawat mendarat mulus di Bandara Sepingan Balikpapan. Padahal ada rasa kuatir juga, takut2x pesawatnya "mampir" ke tempat lain... Thanks buat Pak Akbar yang nemenin ngobrol dari Jakarta-Balikpapan. Dari ngobrol kerjaan sampai makanan (terutama dengan masalah makanan Kepiting).

Jam tigaan waktu setempat pesawat kami mendarat, langsung rombongan menuju tempat lapor kedatangan pada Panitia PST dan dibagikan Form Registrasi ulang. Lalu setelah mengambil koper saya menuju bis yang akan membawa ke GPIB Maranatha Balikpapan, guna melakukan pendaftaran ulang peserta PST. Sekalian di sini dibagikan buku acara, tas, perlengkapan mandi, dan ID card peserta juga baru. Kesan saya : Salut untuk panitia. Apalagi tempat registrasi ulangnya sudah Wi-Fi Hot Spot.

Setelah pembagian id card peserta kami di arahkan untuk menuju pembagian tempat, dan saya bersama Bro' Henry Walangitan dapat akomodasi di Hotel Budiman Jl. Ahmad Yani. Nah saat saya menulis di warnet nya berada tepat di samping kiri hotel.

Sehabis mandi dan ganti baju karena hampir 6 jam berada di Balikpapan, saya dan Bro' Henry mencari makan dan kita berdua makan di Masakan Padang. Hari ini sudah capek sekali, tapi Puji TUHAN YESUS saya berada dalam keadaan baik-baik saja. Itu dulu catatan perjalanan saya pada hari ini saya akan lanjutkan besok ok.

Hari ini saya akan ke Balikpapan untuk mengikuti PST (Persidangan Sinode Tahunan) 2006 GPIB - bersama dengan beberapa wakil Dewan-Dewan GPIB. Aku berangkat dengan k'Amelia Samallo, k'Louna Ticoalu, k'Troosye Mahulete, Ibu Julie Weken, Bung Rico.

Happiness is not the exclusive experience of just a lucky few. It is always there for anyone who is sincere and open enough to choose it.

Happiness is always there to choose, in any place, at any time, under a whole wide range of conditions. Give happiness to the moments of life, and you will surely know it well.

Give yourself some distance

Many of the things that get to you are not worth the energy and the trouble that you invest in them. Do yourself a favor, and give yourself some distance from them.

Break the pattern of automatically reacting in the same way, time after time, to all the minor disturbances that come along. Sometimes, the best response is no response at all.

Seek to rise above the petty dramas that don't do anyone any good. Keep in mind that where you put your awareness and your attention is where your life will go.

There are so many beautiful, positive outlets for your energy. Every day is full of possibilities for building, creating, loving, learning and growing.

Certainly there will always be difficulties in life that must be addressed and attended to. Yet there is no reason to make for yourself any needless difficulties of confrontations.

A sign of true strength is the willingness to completely let go of the things that don't really matter. Choose to exercise that strength, and keep life focused in a positive, meaningful direction.
