Effort becomes effortless

Effort becomes effortless when it is driven by a deep and abiding purpose. Achievements fall easily and naturally into place when they are in harmony with who you are.

Fear disappears when you realize that the things that truly matter can never be taken away from you. Creativity blossoms with each moment spent in gratitude for the limitless abundance of life.

Distractions lose their power when you focus on your loving intentions. No circumstance can hold you back when you know who you truly are.

Beyond the small and petty concerns of the ego are magnificent and endless possibilities. Beyond the shortsighted need to selfishly control the little things is the very real ability to positively influence everything.

Life goes your way to the extent that you give it meaning and purpose. Your thoughts, words and actions bring unique and lasting value to the extent that they express who you are.

Stop fighting your fears and they will stop holding you back. Dare to touch your deepest purpose and bring it fully to life.

There will come a day when your innermost imaginings will become your outer reality. What are you choosing to imagine right now?

There will come a day when your habits will be so firmly ingrained that they'll carry you along without you even thinking about them. What kinds of habits are you working to develop?

There will come a day when you'll suddenly encounter a magnificent and wonderful opportunity that's just perfect for you. What are you doing today that will prepare you to make the most of that opportunity?

There will come a day when all the superficial concerns fall away. What are you doing in this moment to give real meaning and purpose and substance to life?

The things you do today affect not only today. They build you and prepare you and position you for all the days that will come.

That makes this very day your most important opportunity. For the person you choose to be today is the person who will carry you forward toward all those days that will surely come.

The life you create

Sometimes you can make life much more difficult by attempting to make it too easy. Sometimes the shortcuts you seek end up being a lot more trouble than they're worth.

Often, in trying to avoid work, you can create even more work for yourself. Often, in seeking to avoid an unpleasant or inconvenient truth, you give even more power, influence and recognition to that truth.

Taking the easy way out is rarely that easy. For when you avoid the effort and commitment in life, you end up missing out on the real value.

The more willingly, lovingly and enthusiastically you make the effort, the more value that effort will bring. The more time you commit to making a difference, the more magnificent your world will be.

Instead of looking for ways to avoid work, look for ways to make that work more productive and more meaningful. Instead of seeking to hide from the truth, learn to align yourself with its power.

Be always anxious to give your best to life. For the life you create is the life you will live.

Bring your vision to life

In your mind's eye, with your emotions fully engaged, surround yourself with the richness of whatever you envision. Fill your awareness with the sights, the sounds, the feelings, and the texture of it all.

Allow yourself to experience the pure joy of the best life you can imagine. Let that feeling penetrate to the very depth of your being.

Make it real within you, and you'll begin to make it real in the world around you. Know without a doubt that it is, and it will begin to be.

Bring your vision to life on the stage of your awareness. And the positive energy you focus upon it will surely make it real.

What magnificent world

What if you have more power, much more power in fact, than you realize? What would you want to do with it?

What if the way you look at the world could change the world itself? What kind of world would you choose to see?

What if things you always considered impossible were suddenly to happen for you? What new possibilities would you start to consider?

What if you discovered, without the slightest trace of doubt, that your reality springs faithfully and relentlessly from your imagination? What would you begin to imagine?

Do the limits in your life exist because someone or something has imposed them on you? Or are they there because you have chosen the comfort of their familiarity?

Imagine letting go of those limits, and watching them fall effortlessly away. What magnificent world will you dare to create?

Lagi senang main Blitzkrieg 2

Karena MacBook Pro saya belum bisa di pakai, saya kembali mengunakan PC untuk main game. Saya sekarang lagi senang main game Blitzkrieg 2. Lumayan susah. Game ini adalah sekuel dari Blitzkrieg baik yang Burning Horizon, Mission Barbarossa.

Nah kalau senang game perang2xan coba aja game Blitzkrieg 2. Seru & based on history. Bisa memainkan pihak USA, Germany & USSR. Gitu... By the way cheat code yang di "internet" itu pada gak bisa dipakai... jadi berusahalah untuk bermain tanpa cheat ok...

No mere circumstance

The very factors that hold you back also provide you with ways to move forward. Look at them with an eye for positive possibilities, and you will see them in a new and empowering light.

There is never any reason to be a victim of your circumstances. You can always choose to rise above them.

Masalah Charger MacBook Pro

Sudah hampir 10 hari saya tidak bisa mengunakan Apple MacBook Pro (Baru beli dua bulan yang lalu), karena chargernya (85W MagSafe Power Adapter with cable management system) rusak.

Sudah di kembalikan di tempat beli-nya. Sampai sekarang belum selesai... Katanya mau di ganti, tapi kok lama ya ?
Yang saya kecewa adalah kerjaan saya yang ada di MacBook Pro nya gak bisa di selesaikan... Baik kerjaan Website Design atau Graphic Design, tertunda dengan masalah ini...

Pengen minta tolong ke siapa ya ? Abis sebagai pemakai awam dari Apple (baru saja switch dari PC), aku belum lagi banyak kenalan di komunitas Apple Indonesia... Trus memang saya belum siap saja kalau MBP saya ini harus rusak (maksudnya charger) dalam 2 bulan sejak di beli... Pernah cari info di Apple Forum, ada saya temukan penguna mendapakan masalah seperti masalah yang saya alami... Mereka bahkan minta supaya Charger nya bisa di recall layaknya Baterai MBP yang bermasalah... Diganti... one-on-one replacement...

Jujur saja, ketika pakai pertama kali Apple MacBook Pro nya saya puas dengan kinerja... gak ada masalah dengan MacOS X nya... gak ada masalah dengan software pre-installednya... bahkan saya di bantu oleh Dirga & Yonatan dan Mas Dicky untuk beberapa hal dari aplikasi MacOS X nya... Thanks Guys...

Nah, akhirnya saya melihat begini:
* Pada satu product yang kelihatan sempurna, pasti ada lah yang "rapuh" nya... dalam hal ini kasus Charger yang rusak
* Untuk di Indonesia sudah ada Apple Service Center yang orang-orang nya ngebantu banget (Thanks Mbak Mila)
* Komunitas Apple juga ngebantu banget
* Saya harus sabar untuk menunggu sampai Chargernya selesai (atau bisa dipakai kembali).

By the way, Thanks Pak Iwan (sudah membantu)...

Beli Tiket Pesawat Jauh2x Hari

Kalau mau melakukan perjalanan khususnya liburan dengan mengunakan jasa pesawat terbang... memang paling enak kalau bisa beli jauh-jauh hari... Seperti yang dilakukan oleh PT Indonesia Airasia (Airasia = AWAIR).
Tapi ketika iklan nya Airasia muncul di media massa, biasanya "rada" telat untuk bisa mendapatkan tiket murah.

Nah, cobalah beberapa tips berikut :
1. Register lah nama & email anda di www.airasia.com - jadi kalau ikutan newsletternya : biasanya info promo didapatkan 1 hari sebelum muncul di Media Massa... Cukuplah untuk memilih tujuan dengan harga yang murah
2. Siapkan kartu kredit nya... atau bisa pesan lewat telfon dan bayar lewat ATM (ini baru dari Bank Permata - Ada promonya nih...)
3. Kalau mo murah pilih penerbangan yang di mid-week (Selasa, Rabu, Kamis)
4. Biasanya last flight harganya lebih murah...
5. Nah, kalau last flight... biasanya Nasi Goreng yang di jual di AirAsia sudah habis... masukan "persediaan" makanan kamu di Ransel... trus kalau mo mesen makan pilih yang Nasi Goreng... nah kalau mereka bilang habis, bilang aja "boleh saya makan, bekal saya yang tersisa di ransel"... btw. Nasi Goreng adalah makanan termahal di AirAsia...
6. Nah, kalau anda pengemar nya Manchester United; di pesawat ada souvenir yang khusus buat MU Mania...

Nah, untuk ke Bali tahun depan (bulan Februari), saya mendapatkan hanya Rp.250rb untuk Return Ticket... Kalau naik bis Lorena itu baru 1 kali jalan saja ke Denpasar... Ok... Semoga tipsnya berguna...

Jadi, Beli Tiket Pesawat (AirAsia) Jauh-Jauh hari ya...

Beyond your beliefs

Your limits are as real as you perceive them to be. What if you changed your perceptions?

There are great and wonderful things you can do that you don't believe you can do. What if your beliefs were to grow?

Top 10 Lies told to Naive Artists and Designers

1 "Do this one cheap (or free) and we'll make it up on the next one."

No reputable business person would first give away their work and time or merchandise on the hope of making it up later. Can you imagine what a plumber would say if you said "come in, provide and install the sink for free and next time we'll make it up when we need a sink." You would be laughed at! Also the likelyhood is that if something important came along, they wouldn't use you.

2 "We never pay a cent until we see the final product."

This is a croc, unless the person is leaving the door open to cheat you out of your pay. Virtually every profession requres a deposit or incremental payment during anything but the smallest project. Once you have a working relationship, you may work out another arrangement with a client. But a new client should not ask you to go beyond an initial meeting and, perhaps some preliminary sketches without pay on the job!

3 "Do this for us and you'll get great exposure! The jobs will just pour in!"

Baloney. Tell a plumber "Install this sink and my friend will see and you'll get lots of business!" Our plumber friend would say "You mean even if I do a good job I have to give my work away to get noticed? Then it isn't worth the notice." Also the guy would likely brag to everyone he knows about how this would normally cost (X) dollars, but brilliant businessman that he is he got if for free! If anyone calls,
they'll expect the same or better deal.

4 On looking at sketches or concepts: "Well, we aren't sure if we want to use you yet, but leave your material here so I can talk to my partner/investor/wife/clergy."

You can be sure that 15 minutes after you leave he will be on the phone to other designers, now with concepts in hand, asking for price quotes. When you call back you will be informed that your prices were too high and Joe Blow Design/Illustration will be doing the job. Why shouldn't they be cheaper? You just gave them hours of free consulting work! Until you have a deal, LEAVE NOTHING CREATIVE at the clients office.

5 "Well, the job isn't CANCELLED, just delayed. Keep the account open and we'll continue in a month or two."

Ummm, probably not. If something is hot, then not, it could be dead. It would be a mistake to *not* bill for work performed at this point and then let the chips fall where they may! Call in two months and someone else may be in that job. And guess what? They don't know you at all.....

6 "Contract? We don't need no stinking contact! Aren't we friends?"

Yes, we are, until something goes wrong or is misunderstood, then you are the jerk in the suit and I am that idiot designer, then the contract is essential. That is, unless one doesn't care about being paid. Any reputable business uses paperwork to define relationships and you should
too.

7 "Send me a bill after the work goes to press."

Why wait for an irrelevant deadline to send an invoice? You stand behind your work, right? You are honest, right? Why would you feel bound to this deadline? Once you deliver the work and it is accepted, BILL IT. This point may just be a delaying tactic so the job goes through the printer prior to any question of your being paid. If the guy waits for the job to be printed, and you do changes as necessary, then he can stiff you and not take a chance that he'll have to pay someone else for changes.

8 "The last guy did it for XXX dollars."

That is irrelevant. If the last guy was so good they wouldn't be talking to you, now would they? And what that guy charged means nothing to you, really. People who charge too little for their time go out of business (or self-destruct financially, or change occupations) and then someone else has to step in. Set a fair price and stick to it.

9 "Our budget is XXX dollars, firm."

Amazing, isn't it? This guy goes out to buy a car, and what, knows exactly what he is going to spend before even looking or researching? Not likely. A certain amount of work costs a certain amount of money. If they have less money (and you *can*) do less work and still take the job. But make sure they understand that you are doing less work if you take less money that you originally estimated. Give fewer comps, simplify, let them go elsewhere for services (like films) etc.

10 "We are having financial problems. Give us the work, we'll make some money and we'll pay you. Simple."

Yeah, except when the money comes, you can expect that you will be pretty low on the list to be paid. If someone reaches the point where they admit that the company is in trouble, then they are probably much worse off than they are admitting to. Even then, are you a bank? Are you qualified to check out their financials? If the company is strapped to the point where credit is a problem through credit agencies, banks etc. what business would you have extending credit to them. You have exactly ZERO pull once they have the work. Noble intentions or not, this is probably a losing bet. But if you are going to roll the dice, AT LEAST you should be getting additional money for waiting. The bank gets interest and so should you. That is probably why the person is approaching you; to get six months worth of free interest instead of paying bank rates for credit and then paying you with that money. Don't give away money.

Now, this list wasn't meant to make anyone crazy or paranoid, but is designed to inject some reality into the fantasy.

You are GOING to be dealing with people who are unlike yourself. Their motivations are their own and their attitudes are probably different than yours. There are going to be demands, problems, issues and all the hassles that go with practically ANY work/job/money situation. Too many times I see the sad example of someone walking in to a situation with noble intentions and then getting royally screwed, because what they see as an opportunity and a labor of love, the other party sees as something else entirely, not at all romantic or idealized, but raw and simple.

How can you deal with this stuff and still do good creative work? Good question. THIS is why an education is important. You learn, out of the line of fire, how to deal with the art at it's own level and also how to deal with the crap that surrounds it. You may have tough teachers and think that it can't be worse, but wait until a business person has a hundred grand riding on your art! Then you will know what "demanding" means. You will then thank all those tough teachers for building up the calluses that enable you to enjoy the job rather than just feeling like it is all a big waste of time!

In the end, working commercially, being a terrific artist is about 25% of the task. If that is the only part of the task that you are interested in, do yourself a favor. Don't turn "pro."

Give meaning

Do something that truly means something. Take action that will make a positive and substantive difference in your world.

Take a stand in favor of whatever it is you value and treasure the most. Take a stand in favor of life.

Align your thoughts and actions with your passions and convictions. Do what you know without a doubt is right.

Take an empty moment and fill it with beauty. Find a disillusioned heart and fill it with love.

Be a reminder to all those around you of the depth and intensity of meaning that life holds. In your own special way, give meaning to life and that meaning will surely grow.
