The joy of effort

There is a joy in productive effort that is like no other. When you create value, the feeling is so very good and right.

It may sometimes seem that work is a burden. Yet work is a burden only for those who decide to see it as such.

Actually, work can be one of life's greatest blessings. For it is your opportunity to create the future.

If you resent having to work, consider the alternative. Imagine how truly awful life would be if you were never able to make a positive, productive difference.

The main thing that makes work unpleasant is your attitude toward it. With a positive, thankful attitude, not only are your efforts more enjoyable, they produce more valuable results.

Make your life full and rich by taking a joyful approach to the work you do. Discover joy in the effort, and the rewards will be great.

Have a plan

If you don't have a plan, random circumstances will make one for you. And you probably won't like it much.

Decide what you would like and go for it. Success is no more complicated than that.

The energy and time you spend can either bring you toward your dreams or it can keep you in the service of someone else's dream. Choose to follow your own dreams.

Explore your own most deeply held values and purposes. Decide precisely how you would like your world and your life to be.

The most dismal failures are not caused by the inability to reach a goal. Those failures are the result of not having a clear enough and meaningful enough goal.

Know exactly where you intend to go, and you're much more likely to get there. Have a plan, follow it with persistence, and enjoy being where you sincerely choose to be.

Deep inside

There are things you can see, things you can hear, things you can touch, taste and smell. And beyond all those, there are things you can know.

There is wisdom within you that requires no outside validation. There are things your heart knows that nothing can dispute.

Don't become so caught up in material, worldly matters that you ignore the miraculous living presence always glowing inside you. Pay attention to the incomprehensible essence that is your life.

In your hands you hold things that, sooner or later, will rust and decay. In your heart you can keep things that are timeless.

Food, clothing and shelter sustain and protect your body. Be sure to sustain and nourish your spirit just as diligently.

Deep inside the person the world sees, is the real and indivisible person you are. Let your inner self play an active and positive role in all you do.

Know why

Rather than thinking of reasons why you can't, think of the reasons why you must. Instead of focusing on your problems, focus on your purpose.

There will always be challenges in any endeavor. Yet for every challenge, there is a way to get through it.

The secret comes in knowing why. With a strong enough sense of why, anything can be done.

What specifically do you wish to do, and why do you wish to do it? Dig down deeply into the reasons why, for that is where you'll find the energy, the persistence, and the commitment to carry you forward.

Don't be afraid to desire it, and to explore your own personal, meaningful reasons. By understanding why, you'll have what you need to figure out how, and to make it happen.

Know why, and watch the challenges melt away. Know why, and it will be.

Ketika Tim Nasional ku INDONESIA terhenti di penyisihan group D pada hari ini - dikarenakan Korsel lebih baik... Saya harus bilang "Bye AFC Asia Football Cup 2007"...

Ketika Tim Kesayanganku tidak main lagi, itu berarti akhir saya nonton bola piala asia...

Saya tetap salut pada Tim Nasional INDONESIA... Kalian membuat saya bangga... Ketika tadi nonton pun saya bernyanyi lagu kebangsaan kita "INDONESIA RAYA"... Ini pelajaran berharga buat kita semua... Kita bisa, kalau kita mau...

Peaceful and calm

You can choose to be annoyed by just about everything. But why would you wish to be annoyed by anything?

As easily as you can choose to be annoyed, you can choose to be peaceful, patient and understanding. Instead of putting your energy into being annoyed, you can put it into more valuable and productive pursuits.

Would you like to make yourself into a victim, or would you prefer to be firmly in control of your life? Peaceful patience, tolerance and acceptance will keep you in control.

If there is a situation that needs to be changed, take action to make that change happen. Don't waste your time with being annoyed.

The next time you encounter a situation that would normally annoy you, stop and remember that you have another choice. Instead of letting outside events control your attitude, choose to control it yourself.

Being annoyed is a waste of your life. Be peaceful, calm and powerful instead.

Ini TETAP Kandang Kita

Saya tidak kecewa dengan kekalahan Tim Nasional Indonesia melawan Arab Saudi kemarin malam... Saya bangga, baru di extra time Arab Saudi bisa mengalahkan Tim Nasional kesayangan saya INDONESIA.

Hebat Elie... Pokoknya semua hebat... Supporter kita hebat...

Saya pikir saya saja yang bilang kepemimpinan wasit "rada-berat-sebelah" dengan dikeluarkannya banyak kartu kuning untuk Pemain Indonesia... Lihat saya permainan kasar Arab Saudi terhadap beberapa pemain kita malah tidak dikasih kartu... Ternyata eh ternyata SBY juga protes loh... Wah, Pak SBY berarti kita sama mikirnya... kalau Tim Nas kita di "curangin wasit"...

Apapun yang terjadi pada partai ini saya tetap bangga untuk bilang "Ini TETAP Kandang Kita"... Tim Nasional kita hebat... Jangan lihat peringkat lawan, jangan grogi, gak usa lihat inferior-nya sang lawan... cuma satu yang harus kita lakukan : BERJUANG... I'm proud of you guys... really... gak pernah selama ini saya bangga jadi supporter Tim Nasional... Melihat rekans di Senayan bernyanyi "INDONESIA RAYA", saya bangga sama mereka...

Ternyata sepakbola bisa menjadi "ALAT PEMERSATU" bangsa kita, Bangsa INDONESIA... Ayo berjuang... Ayo...

BTW, Happy belated birthday Ivan Kolev... We're proud of you too...

Dreams and doubts

What is possible to imagine, is possible. The distance between imagination and reality is not very far.

Choose to imagine the good and valuable things with such great passion and purpose that they far outweigh any doubts or fears you may have. And you'll soon find yourself living the reality of your most treasured dreams.

MovableType 4.0 beta 5 dan Textpattern 4.0.5

Bukan sebuah kebetulan MovableType 4.0 beta 5 (MT4.0b5) dan Textpattern 4.0.5 (TXP4.0.5) mempunyai urutan angka-angka 4.0.5 :)

Trus... apa hubungan nya dengan saya ?
Gini... Saya mo bicara satu persatu mengenai MT dan TXP...

Pertama, MovableType (MT) 4.0
Sudah sekian lama mengunakan MT, saya terkesan banget dengan kehadiran MT 4.0 yang bener-bener keren... bukan hanya interface nya tapi kemampuannya sudah cangih deh...
Sekarang di local server ku sedang aku kutak-katik MT 4.0 beta (yang terbaru beta 5)... Mempersiapkan design baru vikingkarwur.com (VK) dengan versi finalnya MT 4.0 --- MovableType sudah jadi "bahasa alami" dalam pengunaan CMS, ***apalagi*** MT sudah memasuki Open Source.

Kedua, TextPattern (TXP) 4.0.5
Beberapa project terakhir saya, berhasil saya port ke TXP 4.0.4 (akan di update ke 4.0.5). Apa keren-nya TXP ? Gini, saya seneng banget dengan kecepatan implementasi dari hasil interface design (sudah berbentuk CSS/XHTML) menjadi website yang online dalam waktu kurang dari 5 jam. Ini sudah saya pernah coba.
Memang saya tadinya kurang suka dengan interface admin nya TXP; tapi sekarang da gak masalah lagi karena sudah ada "Interface Admin Lift-Up" nya. Malah saya sudah kutak-katik supaya sesuai dengan keinginan dari klien saya. Wow.

Trus kalau ditanya pilih MT atau TXP ? saya pilih 2-2 nya... Kenapa ? Untuk beberapa hal kedua nya tidak dapat dibandingkan... saya memilih 2-2nya karena, membantu pekerjaan saya setelah design interface selesai... saya tinggal memilih mau yang cepat saya pakai TXP & kalau memilih MT saya bisa "explore" lebih banyak dan butuh waktu extra...

Nah, altenatif pengunaan aplikasi sejenis bisa pakai MODxCMS, WordPress, RadiantCMS (RoR powered)...

Jadinya MT & TXP sudah jadi "engine standard" di vikingkarwur.com gitu...
